CURTAIN UP ON MURDER

Auditions: Wednesday 27th November 2024, 8pm at Theydon Bois Village Hall

Synopsis: An amateur drama group is rehearsing a play in its theatre at the end of the pier. They find themselves locked in and things start to take a dark turn. One by one, several of the cast members meet a grisly end. Who is to blame? Is it one of the other actors, or is someone else locked in with them? Someone who is intent on murder?

Dramatic deaths, knitting, a love tryst, a play within a play and a twist at the end. What more could you want? 

CHARACTERS

Female

LINDA  - attractive, smart, capable; 28 

GINNY - naive, prim, rather gauche; 18 

SANDRA - earnest, bright, confident; 20 

SYLVIA  - attractive, impractical, a daydreamer; 35 

MOPPET - messy, untidy, sweet, likeable; 50-ish

Male

ALEX - attractive, conceited, self-interested; 28

MARTIN - super-confident, full of himself, but with charm; 50-ish 

HARRY – the caretaker, a bit dim and gossipy; elderly

Please note that the ages of the characters are not fixed, but just a guideline and can be adjusted. New members are very welcome. We will have a read-through in December and rehearsals will start at the beginning of January. Generally, rehearsals are two nights a week with a couple of Sundays.
